OUR HISTORY
On September 30, 2012 eight people met in Helen Round's living room and held the first service of Hope Baptist church. Shortly after that, we began meeting in the Hand in Hand daycare on Middle Road. We met there for 3 years and saw God bless in many ways.

In August of 2015, we were afforded the opportunity to begin meeting at Harmony Hills Baptist Church. In December we purchased the building and Hope Baptist Church had a permanent home. Since then, we have seen growth both in numbers and spiritually and we thank God for the many gifts He has given us and look forward with anticipation to the future.
Mark Cannon came to Bettendorf to pastor Hope Baptist Church. He and his wife Terri, have been married since 1981. They have nine adopted children; three still at home, and now have twelve grand children. They have been in the ministry since 1989.

Originally from Texas, the Cannons were sent out as church planters from Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas under the leadership of Sr. Pastor, Dr. Bob W. Smith. Pastor Cannon has served churches in Texas and founded Trinity Independent Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri before coming to Iowa.

Pastor Cannon is also a volunteer chaplain for the Bettendorf Police Department.
